Landau Building Company Welcomes Tracey Heyl as Accounts Payable Specialist

 

Pittsburgh, PA – August 1, 2022 – Landau Building Company, a full-service construction company serving Western PA and Northern WV for the last 130 years, is pleased to announce Tracey Heyl has joined the company as Account Payable Specialist.

Tracey spent the past 12 years working as the administrative assistant and scheduler for various healthcare practices. Before that she worked as the office manager and controller for an architectural lighting manufacturer for 22 years. Her skills with accounts receivables and payables makes for a perfect fit as she joins Landau Building Company’s accounting department.

Originally from the North Hills of Pittsburgh, PA, Tracey now resides in Valencia. In her free time, she enjoys bowling and trap shooting alongside her husband. She is an officer and the member secretary at both the Mars Rod & Gun Club and Richland Sportsman’s Association, where she serves as the first female officer.

Henry Buhl Library Additions & Renovations at Grove City College

Phase III of the Henry Buhl Library Addition & Renovation Project at Grove City College has reached  a pivotal milestone with the recent completion of the cherry wood bleacher staircase designed by PWWG and CJL Engineering.  Upon entry to the library, visitors will be greeted with this contemporary new feature that invites you to enter the renovated spaces in the lower level.

Landau Building Company is serving as the Construction Manager for the 29,000 SF project.  Newly renovated spaces include the addition of group study and classroom space, a new reading room, updated stacks, a café, lounge and patio. State-of-the-art technology and abundant power sources for student computing is also included.  The four phase project was started in May of 2021, and is slated for completion in August 2022.  The library has remained open during construction and the Landau team is excited for the Spring Semester 2022 return of students, faculty, and staff of Grove City College.

Joe Scaramuzzo Joins Landau Building Company as Senior Estimator

Landau Building Company, a full-service construction company serving Western PA and Northern WV for the last 130 years, is pleased to announce Joe Scaramuzzo has joined the company as Senior Estimator.

Before joining Landau, Joe was with Burchick Construction where he oversaw the estimating department as Vice President of Preconstruction Services. Joe is a seasoned estimator, with over 36 years leading estimating teams in the healthcare, commercial, institutional, and light industrial market space.

As Senior Estimator, Joe will be an integral part of our preconstruction process by working closely with our team on our most challenging and complex projects. In addition, his wealth of experience will provide a high-level of accuracy in project estimating, helping our clients maximize cost saving opportunities and bring considerable value to each of their projects.

Joe has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Penn State University and holds a certificate in EIT and is a LEED Green Associate. He was also previously involved in the local chapter of the Green Building Alliance organization.

 

 

Recently Awarded Contract to Expand Manufacturing Facility

Landau Building Company has begun Phase I of a tenant fit-out of existing space for Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc., a publicly traded, storage battery manufacturing company. The 46,000 SF expansion project will create additional space for manufacturing Znyth™ aqueous zinc batteries and is located on the first floor of RIDC Keystone Commons Building S in Turtle Creek, PA.

Landau Building Company Welcomes John Solomon as Project Engineer

Landau Building Company, a full-service construction company serving Western PA and the surrounding region for over 130 years, today announced John Solomon has joined the company as Project Engineer.

John joins the Landau team from Behrens & Associates, an environmental noise control company. John oversaw their Northeast Territory as an Acoustical Sound Meter Technician.

John will be responsible for assisting our team of project managers with submittal management and schedule preparation, while working with superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers. In his new role, John will be working closely with Senior Project Manager Jeremy Bowlby on several of his upcoming projects. “We’re really looking forward to having John become an integral member of our team,” said Jeremy Bowlby, Sr. Project Manager. “His unique skill set will allow him to hit the ground running in a cohesive and effective manner.”

As an alumnus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a former resident of Asheville, North Carolina, John currently resides in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA.

Jamison Vernallis Joins Landau Building Company as Marketing Coordinator

Landau Building Company, a full-service construction company serving Western PA and the surrounding region for over 130 years, today announced Jamison Vernallis has joined the team as Marketing Coordinator. In her new role, Jamison will be deploying targeted marketing and business development strategies, turning qualified leads into gainful job opportunities, while also serving as the liaison between client relations and developing projects. Jamison previously served as Marketing Manager for a construction firm.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jamison to the Landau Team,” said Sharon Landau, Marketing Director of Landau Building Company. “With her blended background in public relations and in the construction industry she will be a valuable addition to the company.”

Before her entry into the construction world, Jamison spent 7 years delivering marketing strategies for a boutique PR firm, as well as working alongside startups and technology companies.

“The construction industry landscape is changing quite quickly, and I see Landau positioned to take advantage and respond effectively to major market shifts over the next few years by focusing on their existing client’s needs while adopting innovative strategies to attract new clients,” said Jamison. “I’m beyond excited to begin working with everyone on the team and help drive growth in gaining new business and job opportunities.”

Jamison will be rejoining the Master Builders’ Association of Western Pennsylvania Marketing Committee as a representative of Landau.

Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall – Library Park Groundbreaking Ceremony

On July 8, 2021, a groundbreaking was held for the Library Park project at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall (ACFL&MH) in Carnegie Borough PA . Landau Building Company will be the general contractor for the project which is a beautifully designed park that will connect “the Carnegie in Carnegie” to the lively main street below. It includes a meandering pathway lined with trees, sculptures, and sidewalks.

Landau Building Company began working at Andrew Carnegie Free Library in 2004. Each phase of work was contracted as funding became available. The renovations included restoration of the music hall, basement, lobby, elevator, as well as the façade, roof, windows, landscaping, retaining wall, and door repair.

The Carnegie Free Library has been serving the community since 1901 and is celebrating its 120th anniversary. You can learn more about the library and the renovations here:

New Space for CMU Osher Life Long Learning Institute

Landau Building Company has begun renovations of the Carnegie Mellon University Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Cyert Hall project. This 5,730 SF tenant space will be transformed into classrooms, lounge, conference room, offices, and an activity space. Upgrading restrooms to full ADA compliance is also part of the project. The project will be substantially complete by September 2021 and was designed by NEXT architecture.
