Robert Morris University School of Nursing and Health Sciences
- Project: New School of Nursing and Health Sciences
- Owner: Robert Morris University
- Location: Moon Township, PA
- Architect: Ross Bianco
Landau Building Company constructed the new Robert Morris University School of Nursing and Health Sciences building, located in Moon Township. The 37,000 SF facility relocated the existing RISE (Regional Research and Innovation in Simulation Education) Center from the John Jay Center to a brand-new building. The two-story structure contains classrooms, lab rooms, offices, and the Dean’s Suite. The ground floor includes high-fidelity rooms that imitate a real hospital infirmary for nursing simulations. Pseudo exam rooms are connected by observation control rooms for professors to monitor students in these simulated experiences. This project was completed using a GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) contract. As the Construction Manager, Landau was able to collaborate with the architect/Owner to establish a target budget, work within this budget and order long lead items before construction began to maintain schedule. The new building is LEED-certified.
